Last day of Sale-A-Bration

Here is one more card using the Banner Blast stamp set and the Banner punch...
The little banners are stamped on either Very Vanilla or on colored cardstock- it really makes a different look, even when you use the same image and ink, if you stamp on colored paper!

Today is the last day the stamp set will be available- but the punch will be in the 2014-2015 catalog.  You can select one of these items FREE with each $50 purchase.  If you have fallen in love with these easy-peasy banners, waste no time placing your order!

Oh, and that fabulous patterned paper at the bottom of the card is the Epic Day This and That Designer Series Paper- currently on sale in the Weekly Deals...but only discount price through tonight, so hurry hurry!

Mosaic Madness, Stamp-a-ma-jig

People, please!  If you want me to send you a card, just say so!  There is to be no more of this emergency surgery in my family, if you don't mind!  This card is going to my sister in law, who is recovering in California.

The cardstock and inks are bright and cheery, in Strawberry Slush, Tangerine Tango and Wild Wasabi.  The stitched satin ribbon in Primrose Petals has a graphic pattern which goes nicely with the stamped images from Mosaic Madness.
The Stamp-A-Ma-Jig allows for precise stamping right where you want it, so intricate patterns like this are orderly and lined up neatly.

Gray skies are gonna clear up...

Coloring directly on a stamp with markers allows you to make a multi-colored image.  Stamp your image on two colors of cardstock, snip and layer the images, and you've got a rainbow of possibilities!

This sweet little 3-inch by 3-inch accent piece will dress up one of my scrapbook pages...

...and this gift card pocket will hold a little something for my daughter on her birthday on Monday.

The gift card envelope is made with the Envelope Punch Board.  Click here to see a nifty video on how to create envelopes in all kinds of sizes using one cool tool!  The embossed clouds are from the Cloudy Day Textured Embossing Folder, now found on the clearance rack while supplies last.

Sale-A-Bration is in the final two weeks of FREE goodies! The stamp is part of a set called
See Ya Later. Did I mention you can get it free? Yes, Free! For each $50 of merchandise purchased, you can choose one item from the Sale-A-Bration catalog. Certainly one of the most popular promotions at Stampin' Up!

Swallowtail Spotlight 2

Clearly, we are ready for spring around here!  This is another way to spotlight a portion of an image...

With a circular stamp and a colorful handful of markers, your butterfly will be ready for a float around the garden!

When using markers on top of a stamped image, I recommend stamping your image in Jet Black StazOn.  It will not smudge or run, leaving you with the crisp image you want!

Swallowtail spotlight 1

Today's card is bound for my cousin Ivan, who is recovering from heart surgery.  It seems just the thing to brighten him up.

The Swallowtail Background Stamp is gorgeous, no matter what you do with it!  Here, the image has been stamped on Whisper White cardstock, and 3 holes punched.  The image was stamped again on Island Indigo, Pool Party and Calypso Coral cardstock.  The paper snips allow for precise trimming around the images.  The colored cardstock was then layered behind the holes.  The colors peeking through are striking against the black background. A simple card with a lot of flair!

Card for the Bat Mitzvah Girl

The celebrations are done with, and I think most everyone has returned to their appropriate time zones, whew!  I had hoped to take a picture of my cupcake toppers decorating a big pile of brownies, but by the time I got to the nibbles, the plate was empty! I am not sure what drew folks to that particular plate- it could have been the fudgy goodness of my Mom's brownies, or it just may have been the lovely toppers! You can see them in my previous post.

I thought you might enjoy the card I made- it is a match for the toppers, using the colors our bat mitzvah girl likes best. The stamp set Jewish Celebrations is still available, and oh so much fun to play with!  I reinforced the clean and graphic feel by using patterned paper and an embossing folder with simple, repetitive shapes and designs. The Silver Metallic Encore ink and a rhinestone boost the glam factor.

This is the card closed...
From here, open the top layer...
...then open the bottom layer...
Then fill it up with congratulations and love!!

Mazel Tov, Janny-J.!

My niece is celebrating her Bat Mitzvah this weekend- won't she be surprised to find these decorating the platters of goodies?

Her favorite colors have always been hot pink and black, so I made these to celebrate tradition in a non-traditional sort of way.  The silver ink and rhinestones add just the right amount of sophistication and bling.  De-constructing the image from the Jewish Celebrations stamp set was really a lot of fun- the more I played with the images, the more ideas I had!  I think no two are alike...

Mazel Tov to you, J-Bird!  I am looking forward to a wonderful celebration of the person you are becoming!

If you would like to see these beauties at your next event, visit my etsy shop

There are no coincidences...

...however, I did not know that the ruffle stretch trim shown in yesterday's post would show up in this week's Weekly Deals!  The prices listed under each image show the regular price, then the discounted price for this week, Tuesday to Tuesday.  Seems like a good time to try some of that Ruffle Stretch Trim, if you ask me...

Make a Wish

I love paper.  There, I've said it.  I love the patterns, colors, designs, textures...  That being said, the Retro Fresh Designer Series Paper  has to be one of the most fun paper packs I have played with in a while.  It is colorful without being too bright, playful without being childish.  I used it as the background for this card, destined for my good friend Abigail.

The clean, geometric print pairs perfectly with the Chevron Border Punch and Starburst Framelits.  The image is from the Perfect Pennants stamp set- you see you CAN mix and match stamp sets and framelits, the art police won't come and get you! This is the first time I have used the Ruffle Stretch Trim- What was I waiting for?!  It was so easy to use, you will definitely see that again!  Just a strip of adhesive on the back of the paper and the trim went on like a dream!  It adds just the right bit of texture.

So, happy birthday, Abigail- enjoy your card, and your day!
