Waiting For Wings

Have you read the book by Lois Ehlert called Waiting for Wings? It is a fabulous and beautiful picture book for kids... but I bought it for my Dad last winter.  He is a butterfly lover and photographer.  I am sending him this card, just because!

This card is all about texture!  The butterflies are from the   Beautiful Wings Embosslits Die.  I love to create a whole bunch of them in different colors, then pick and choose from my stash.  And don't you love the background? That is the Vine Street Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, and it is on the Clearance Rack!  Don't miss it! Three little pearls add a little more texture and draw your eye to a focal point.

Oh, Happy Cupcake Toppers!

Oh, Happy Day! The sun is shining after many days of snow and rain!  All that deep, deep, deep, snow- all that snow had to go! Celebrate a special day or a special someone with a special cupcake topper!
Have you had a chance to try the Starburst Sayings stamp set and Starburst Framelits Dies? The coordinating stamps and framelits make cutting out the complicated images a breeze- just roll your starburst-shaped stamped image through the Big Shot using the Magnetic Platform and your image is cut into a starburst! The banner is cut using the Big Shot with the  Banners Framelit Dies and then run through using the Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder

Now, when you make cupcakes or even when you buy them, of course you need to have more than one- one for each person is better! Well, maybe two for each person is best... so to help the other cupcake eaters so they don't feel their cupcake is plain and dreary, I've made some mini cupcake toppers using coordinating images from the same stamp set.

If you live in the Hartford Connecticut Area and would like to make cards using images from this stamp set, join us at our next card making class Thursday March 20th. You can register through the West Hartford LifeLearn website.

Small cards, big thanks!

Today I am happy to share with you some mini 3-inch by 3-inch cards I made for my neighbors.  We have a food pantry here in town that works so hard to help keep food on the shelves for hungry families.  Our neighborhood is committed to helping out, so we take turns collecting food and bringing it to the food pantry.  This week is my turn.  To let my neighbors know how much their contributions mean, I have told them they may each take a card and envelope when they drop off something in the basket.
The card uses the Starburst Sayings stamp set and Starburst Framelits Dies.  I love how they work together to add so much texture! This saying just seemed perfect for the occasion, but the inside is blank so my neighbors can reuse the cards. The tiny banners were stamped and punched with the Banner Blast stamp set and the Banner punch, items you can choose for FREE through Sale-A-Bration when you order $50.

I made two designs, leave a comment to let me know which way you prefer the banners.
